Friday & Saturday, April 16 & 17 - Rotary Rock N' Ribs BBQ Festival
Held at Bass Pro Shops, this annual event draws crowds from across the nation to Springfield to compete in BBQ contest. All proceeds from the event goes to local charities including the Good Samaritan Boys Ranch. Visit www.rocknribs.com for more information.
Thursday, May 6 – Empire Bank Downtown in Denim Dinner
This annual event features a four-course dinner prepared by Tower Club Chef Brad Lyons with all ticket proceeds benefiting the Good Samaritan Boys Ranch. Attire is casual and denim with a western theme. Cost is $100 per person and includes wine with dinner. Table sponsorships are available for $1,000. Boys Ranch chorus will perform following the meal. Monday, May 17 – Bolivar Insulation/Springfield Brake Charitable Golf Tournament
Held at Millwood Country Club. Lunch is served at 11:30 am, golf begins at 12:30 pm. Team registration includes green fees, cart, lunch, goody bag, golf gifts and appetizer buffet following play. Call the Boys Ranch for more details at 376-2238.
August 6 through 16 - Annual Price Cutter Charity Championship
Held at the beautiful Highland Springs Country Club, this annual golfing event serves as a springboard for young PGA players and raises money for local charities. The Good Samaritan Boys Ranch receives funding from this annual event.
August 1 to 31 – Back to School Promotion with Staples
Held annually with Staples, this promotion provides school supplies and money for back to school clothes for the boys at the Ranch. Collection barrels are located at each Staples location in Springfield.
Saturday, August 28 – BioLife Run for the Young 5K and 10K Race
On Frisco Highline Trail sponsored by BioLife Plasma Center.
Thursday, September 16 - Big Whiskeys Bartender Shoot-Out.
This first annual event will match Springfield area bartenders who will compete for trophies and bragging rights. All drinks prepared in competition will be auctioned off with proceeds benefiting the Good Samaritan Boys Ranch. A 50/50 raffle and appetizers are included in $5 cover charge. Festivities begin at 6 p.m. at Big Whiskeys located in Downtown Springfield at 311 East Park Central.
Saturday, September 18 – Boys Ranch Outdoor Challenge at Springfield Lake Boathouse
Offers two outdoor events – a 5K/10K trail run and canoe/kayak race. Individual and team divisions, prizes, food and fun! The trail race begins at 8 a.m. followed by the canoe/kayak race at 10 a.m.
November & December – Give a Boy a Golden Christmas Holiday Direct Mail & Gift Drive
This annual mailing and gift drive held in conjunction with 99 Hit FM Radio and the Bolivar Herald Free Press provides a bright holiday for the boys who will be spending the holidays at the Ranch.
December 26 – 11th Annual Good Samaritan Run for the Ranch
Sponsored by Ozark Mountain Ridge Runners features a 5K, 10K, half marathon and full marathon. Register on-line at www.omrr.org
